Regular Member Earth!Mother Posted January 4, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted January 4, 2008 There was a huge rip in the media bag full of carbon in my 20 gallon tanks filter. I have loose carbon and carbon from the old bag, but am unsure of what to put it in. I have a huge roll of wound wrap, it's pretty much gauze. Not sure if it is fish safe. Any ideas? Planned on creating a makeshift one till I can get to the store tomorrow.
Regular Member Jeana727 Posted January 4, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted January 4, 2008 Well, this may be too late to really be of any help, but I would think that IF it is new, unused gauze that is completely unmedicated....I would smell it to make sure it has NO medicated odor.....then I would use it to bandage your carbon. I often use different items that are not "fish related" for odd repairs or whatever on my tanks. I just make 100% sure that I know exactly what it item is & what that it hasn't been used for anything that could harm the fish.
Regular Member Earth!Mother Posted January 4, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 4, 2008 I just cut up a large fish net and use it to hold the carbo and then tied it. Thanks anyway, though. :]
