Regular Member Chrissy_Bee Posted December 18, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted December 18, 2007 My moore George has really been chasing my pearlscale Fred lately. I looked close today and I think he may have breeding stars on his gill covers This is a new one to me, I think they might be 'in love'.......good thing I live in Canada, hahaha, bad joke. Is there anything I should do, or just see what happens?
Regular Member Chrissy_Bee Posted December 19, 2007 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2007 I just took this pic of George, can anyone tell me if these are breeding stars for sure??
Regular Member Jack of Hearts Posted December 19, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2007 I think so. Jack had those too a few years back and he used to chase my Ryukin Rita all over the place going after her butt. After Rita died, Jack started to chase Sash(male Oranda) all over the place. Sash back in his younger days was incredibly cute. My friend used to joke that Sash was so pretty that Jack was confused.

Regular Member Chrissy_Bee Posted December 20, 2007 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2007 Arrrrrrr you going to breed them? I wasn't planning on it, "Fred" (Winnifred??) is young so I didn't think it was a good idea. But what can I do to stop it?
Regular Member Lolafish Posted December 20, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2007 But what can I do to stop it? Don't worry about it. If the female releases her eggs, it's more likely that they'll get eaten or sucked up into the filters.

That's what I figured...though knowing me I'll try to salvage and raise some I just worry about Fred becoming egg bound, but I guess time will tell what happens.
