Dreamgoddess 0 Posted December 17, 2007 This is my 100g tank that I bought from a lady back in February. When I went to her house to pick it up, she had it stored in a hay barn! The stand was in pretty bad condition...the lady had cats and they had used the stand as a scratching post. Three of the doors had deep scratches on them and one side of the stand looked really bad. My husband told me I should just trash the stand and buy a new one, but I decided to give it a shot at refinishing it. I lost count of how many hours I spent sanding all of it and then staining and sanding some more. Here's a photo of the tank when I went to buy it. Very sad, wasn't it! I finally got it finished and set up in August. I still have some things that I need to get for it. Another Aquaclear filter is on my Christmas list and I want to get a good air pump to hook up my airstones. I love the look of canopies on tanks, so my sweet husband made one for me. This is what it looks like now.

dfernandez77 6 Posted December 31, 2007 Nicely done. I know it was hard work, but what a sense of accomplishment you must have with such a beautiful result. The tank decoration is great too - like your own personal atlantis. Terrific!
