Regular Member jbo Posted January 5, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted January 5, 2004 Don't worry, the fish are fine. They only went without food for about 36 hours and they're in a planted tank with wistera and hornwort. I wasn't really worried about it since most people say you should fast them one day a week anyway. They did, however let me know how the felt about that idea... Before I forgot to feed them, they had been nibbling on the wisteria and picking off a needle here and there on the hornwort. Now all that's left of the wisteria is the plant ring that was holding it down and the hornwort is in 2-3" sections in a pile on the bottom. The poor pleco has a pile of broken plants in his depression under the driftwood. Guess I won't forget to feed them again anytime soon Jim (This message was also posted here.) Guest Cheese Specialist
LOL I only feed my fish every other day anyway! When I went away at xmas for 4 days they cleaned up my tank brilliantly for me. Oh, before everyone goes mad... They have real plants and I feed them the 2 days before I left so they were fuller than normal!

Regular Member Wynkin Posted January 5, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted January 5, 2004 I feed mine twice a day too. And they start going wild around the usual feeding times so it would be hard for me to forget unless I just wasn't here. Dribble, the goldie I had for 8 years used to flip around and splash water out of the tank to let me know he was hungry.

Regular Member RichyB Posted January 5, 2004 Regular Member Share Posted January 5, 2004 My comet get very animated and hovers around the feeding hatch. I feed them 2 or 3 times a day. A couple of pinches soaked in a cup first. They get peas every other day. I love it when they get in the corner nearest to me and stare.
