Last week, I decided to set up my old 5 gallon hex as a nursery tank for my aponogeton seedlings. Since then, I have decided that once it is established, it will be home for a betta. I've moved a couple more plants over from my 10 gallon. The water is totally clear compared to what it was the first couple of days. Here are a couple of pics that I took tonight as well as the link to the first thread for comparison.

The light does come on on my heater. It keeps the water at about 77-78 degrees. I actually do not have any banana plants, they are all aponogeton bulbs, the kind you can get at nnnnnnn. The plant you are talking about is probably a apon seedling that has its leaves touching the gravel.
