Regular Member kelz0429 Posted February 20, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted February 20, 2007 Hello all! I am thoroughly enjoying my new addition, Ace (red and white Ryukin). He is between two and three inches at present and hanging out in his very own 20 gal tank. I have noticed that, tonight, he is swimming around in an oval shape against the front wall of his tank. I have seen Goldfish do this in pairs or trios but never alone. Is this a normal behavior in a lone Goldfish? To be more detailed in my description of the behavior, it looks as if he is trying to trace a circle or oval shape in onto the tank's front surface. Is anyone familiar with this behavior? I also want to mention that he really enjoyed his frozen krill dinner tonight. I don't think I will feed it as a staple, but I know that it is full of nutrients and, apparently, tastes great! Regular Member viscosity2004 Posted February 20, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted February 20, 2007 He might just want attention from you (especially with krill dinner, what goldfish wouldn't!?) Does he appear to rub himself harshly against any other objects in the tank? If not, he's probably fine.
Regular Member SSJChar Posted February 22, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted February 22, 2007 i noticed my common doing that when he was in the 10 gallon tank, but once i moved him to a 110 gallon tub, he stopped. i think maybe he wants more room to swim around in.
