I searched the site a bit and didn't find a place with ALL the ideal water perams listed. Does anyone know if they are, and if not, what are they?

I know what the basics should be (ammonia, nitrite, pH) but I've just ordered a master test kit and I want to know what I'm looking for before I start using it! :D

Goldfish can live is a very wide range of water parameters.

Ammonia - 0

Nitrite - 0

Nitrate - <40

pH - the middle is somewhere between 7.2 and 8.6 - you can be outside these parameters by a bit.

gH - I aim for 100 - but higher or lower is OK. To much below about 50-60 means you may need to ammend.

kH - I aim for 100 - but higher or lower is OK. To much below about 50-60 and your pH may not be stable.

Salt - none needed on a regular basis

CO2 and all that are not generally measured regularly.

Temp - 65-78 is about average. With oxygen, it can be warmer. With less food, it can be cooler.

Does that help a bit? :)
