Little Sis Wants Some More Tropicals

Recommended Posts

She has a 10gal tank and wants to buy some more fish after Christmas. She currently has one female Betta, one male Guppy and one unknown Zebra Danio. And a snail. What kind could she get and about how many? She wants something really colorful but doesn't want anymore Guppies.

Preferably something hardy and easy to care for (she isn't that good at caring for her tank, but she tries).

Any suggestions?

well ya know she is telling the truth I do try to take good care of my tank. I looked up some fish and need opinions about them from all you experts. here are the fish (theres only fous so far)

Aphyosemion aureum (Gold Killie)

Aphyosemion bamile korum (Bamileke Killie)

Aphyosemion christyi (Christy's red-tail spotfin Killie)

Aphyosemion coeleste (Sky blue Killie)

I know most of the facts like what they need to eat and the tempature. etc.

Paradise fish are really pretty but can be agressive. What about a female dwarf gourami?

I would go with more danios, but they don't necessarilly have to be blue zebras. They come in more colors and patterns and they will help your zebra feel more comfortable.

Most available varieties aren't extremely flasy, but here are some different color and patterns and I think they are very pretty. They also come with long fins, but I'm not sure if the fins would stay nice with a small number of danios and the female betta.

And then there are glo-fish danios. They might not sell them in your area, and if they do they might be really expensive, but they are cool fish. They come in colors like hot pink and supposedly glow under a black light. They are not dyed, but instead they are a genetically altered form of zebra danio. The project was meant to create a fish that will glow when they are in polluted waters. They are still being developed but they are started to be sold. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...:en-US%26sa%3DN
