Regular Member cometgoldielover Posted December 12, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2006 When I move into my new place and get set-up and do all that, I think I will get a 30-40 gallon and get a couple of fishies. I love comets, but think I might try out something else. I would love opinions, since it makes little difference if its not a comet.
Regular Member nick11380 Posted December 12, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2006 See if you can find a Wakin. They have the same body shape as a comet but they have a fan tail.
Regular Member katmad Posted December 12, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2006 i chose 'other' simply because all the choices are good ones, but i think you should get the tank set up and then see which fish you fall in love with the most at the store. I would love to see a 30 gal celestial tank tho!! cuteness!
Regular Member Katalyst Posted December 12, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2006 I think wakins might need a bit more room (someone please correct if I am wrong). Personally I'd get an oranda & a ranchu. I keep commons & comets as well but love the chubby faces on ranchu's & orandas are so beautiful to look at. Regular Member vmlola Posted December 12, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2006 I voted for the "Other" option, as I think fish really pick us so many of the times when we go to buy them. So why not wait until your out there shopping for your fish and get the one/ones that jump out at you.
Regular Member AlexRowe Posted December 12, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 12, 2006 At the pet store near my college they are selling, for the first time, Celestials for 20 bucks a pop. They have a very pretty red and white one too. People might say they're "freaks" but i like 'em

Boy... that sounds pretty pricey for a celestial... in what size are they offered?
Regular Member cometgoldielover Posted December 17, 2006 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 17, 2006 I'm not too sure, cuz when I get to a pet store I tend to gravitate towards the comets. But I really would like to try something else. So maybe a Ryukin.
Regular Member david_l Posted January 23, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted January 23, 2007 I voted for Ryukin. It's easy to take care than the others.
