I've ordered some Interpet Freezedried Tubifex and was just wondering what the benefits of feeding this are. I know that bloodworms are a good source of protein, but what do Tubifex bring to the party? I hope its not protein as well otherwise I've got a lot of food on my hands because I've ordered a load of bloodworm too

Thanks for that Sandy, but isn't freezedried tubifex supposed to be parasite-free, like bloodworm and anything else freezedried? I thought that the freezedrying process killed the parasites? If I'm wrong about this, which I probably am, then this could be something to do with my bloodstreak problem. I feed freezedried bloodworm on a regular basis..

Bloodworm is fine as its not sourced from sewerage.

If you can get tubifex from a reputable source then its fine too.

Doesnt matter that its freeze dried either as the parasite can go through the process.

people still feed it and nothing happens but i wont take the risk.

It's not worth the risk. I'd rather stick to food that I can trust, and preferably food that I've cooked myself. I would have thought that Interpet was a reputable source...I could be wrong though. They are one of the cheaper brands...
