Regular Member sunnygirl Posted December 2, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 2, 2006 Just curious about how lng it takes for a GF to reach it's full size? I've had mine for about a year, and it has grown a fair bit, but I was shocked when I saw one at the store that was HUGE! I had no idea how big they really get, regardless about how much I read about size. It's different to read about it than it is to see it. Is the growth sto when the maximum length is reached or do they continue to grow rounder, like the rest of us? The one in the store was so "thick" (for a lack of better phrasing), but not a whole tonlonger than mine. Just curious.

Regular Member denniss Posted December 2, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 2, 2006 I started my oranda and fantail at about two inches in length. In about 18 months or so, their bodies were the size of baseballs. They can grow amazingly fast, given a good supply of clean water (and food, of course). Regular Member Jon Posted December 2, 2006 Regular Member Share Posted December 2, 2006 well, growth is strongly influenced by genetics. good water and the amount of water also affect it, just not as much.
