Neons And Coldwater Fish?

they are tropical but i have about 10 in a cold water tank with my goldfish at 16 degrees (celius), had them for a year and a bit

Your goldfish don't bother your neons? I'm surprised as neons are so small. I can just see mine eating the neons.

I have neons in one of my tropical tanks and the water stays right around 80-82F. They are in a 30 gal tank and theres 8 of them. They have other tank mates and they have all been together for 3 1/2 years.

Dave, neons are tropical fish, so they usually do better in heated aquariums, 22-26C. You can find small heaters (25-50w) relatively inexepnsive, if you wanted to go that route.

Powerdragon, I'm quite surprised that yours have survived so long in cold water, and w/ goldfish as tankmates; but it seems to be working.

Neons are tropical.A good coldwater fish for a small tank are White Cloud Minnows.
