Regular Member Pelvis-Popcan Posted December 13, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted December 13, 2003 I know this doesn't help because it isn't a pic, but it will look like a black stain or splotch on the fish, almost like it's natural coloring, except it isn't. When I first set up my pond, I was stupid and naive and didn't have adequate filtration, and my red oranda got it. After I corrected the problem, the burns went away over the course of several weeks. If there's ammonia in your water, you need to be doing 25% daily water changes until the ammonia and nitrites disappear. Do you have a test kit? If not, they're $15.99 at vvvv (online price).
