Growth Of Some Kind

Hello, I am new to the forum. I have a six year old goldfish who developed a small white bump at age two which has progressed into a large growth. As the growth gets larger Goldie seems to swim less and spends more time resting at the bottom of the tank. It eats fine but when it finishes eating it goes back to the bottom. Other than that the water levels are fine. I have read that the lump can be removed and I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice. My daughter got this goldfish as a prize at a ring toss and it has become part of our family. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Here is a picture of the growth

Looks like a viral tumour to me.The only way to get rid of it is through a vet. He/she can determine if theres a blood supply that could be cut off but usually they grow back again.

Is he alone? Dont add any more fish with him as it may be contagious.

Good luck with him and keep us updated.
