Betta Fish

I think of it this way: Bettas are just really overprotective fathers. (It's the males that care for the eggs and babies.) They want to have the perfect home for their family, with no one else living there, so they chase everyone else away.

I have kept male bettas with small tropicals, tetras, rasboras and that kind of thing without any problem. I think problems arise when you keep them with long finned fish.

Before I found this forum, I kept my bettas in a community tank, but now I have a little 5 gallon set up for a betta. I just need a betta :D
