Going Bare Bottom

Recommended Posts

Most of my plants in my tank have a fake rock glued to the bottom and I have a plastic stump in there that the betta sleeps in. Would having the plants with the uncovered weight look tacky or what? I just want to make a bit more swim room for the fishies.

Suggestions would be nice, also.

I tried that one time and all I got was a big, rubbery/silione-ey mess.

What about using a hot glue gun and hot glue sticks? I read somewhere that the glue sticks are safe for use in the aquarium. I used it one time to fix a bubble wall tubing that broke after hours and it stayed perfect

You can keep just a small amount of gravel to hold the plants down - making sort of a little island.

Anic, i have a bare-bottom in one of my betta tanks, and i have found that the best way to cover-up the tacky bases of those plants is too just put a few large river rocks around the base, it looks good, and no need for gravel :) It also holds them down if you sont have weights on the bottom :)
