I highly doubt that I thought u raised them in that handwash basin cos u wanna try the water reflection-thingy theory? I mentioned about that... I think. anyways the bones from the tails were too bent from most likely stress from before I bought it. so after a week or so I moved them to a green water tub, trying to grow them out for breeding.
awrieger 0 Posted June 25, 2006 Your green water tub is outside in the sunlight? In regards to my other thread about black in fish, I'm curious as to why one of them is developing the black trim but the other isn't when both are in the same environment. And they look like they're siblings so if it's a genetic factor, only one has received the 'black' gene that reacts with light while the other hasn't. I don't know. I'm making all this up as I go along. I need to read a book about goldfish genetics and characteristics.

The one with the black markings as I notice has a thing for sunbathing the other one tends to stay on the bottom although they're both as active

Guest patchthefantail Posted August 19, 2006 I know I posted these in one of my posts but I thought it would fit better here since this is before and after pics. I think these are all about 4 or 5 months apart. Not quite sure. lol Dorado before Dorado now Blanco before Blanco now Fanny before (I always thought this was such a cute picture cause he reminds me of me, cause I never smile for pictures either.) lol Fanny now El Ojos before El Ojos now (he's so hard to snap a picture of. For one on this picture he wouldn't stop moving and had to put a white board behind him so he'd show up.) lol On most of mine I just noticed either their fins filled out more or like Dorado, their color changed. I love to look back at what they used to be and see what they've become.
jen626 3 Posted September 25, 2006 How in the heck have I never seen this post? Wow! I wish I had pics of my commons and comets when they were babies, but I did not have them then. I hope I can add to this thread six months from now with my telescopes Bart and Lisa! We sure do have some stunningly-show-stopping fish in this group!
