Your 'before & After' Pics

Thank you :)

He developed swim bladder disease, before his eyes started to grow extra big.

He still gets around fine and eats well, but I think his swim bladder is now permanently deflated.

He's my brave little soldier :heart

Just found the first ever photos I took of Googles! He seems chubbier in the tummy :hmm

They were taken using a phone and I wasn't used to photographing fish so please excuse the poor quality.

It shows his original tank too, before I knew any better.

Time has flown by: Here's Harrieta in June of 2015 (blue oranda), her buddy Lloydita passed away this past November due to an egg binding infection. The two of them started in a 30gallon.

IMG_0989.JPG

Enter: the lionhead rescues, Humpdy (RIP after a water change temperature shock), and Dumpdy. Dumpdy is closest to the picture taker. Mid November 2015. Also note that Harrieta is getting larger with a small mo-hawk for a wen. Enter new tank a 40B.

IMG_1180.JPG

Exit Lloydita :(

Exit Humpdy (farthest from the photo taker)

Enter Rescue Jacque (while in QT): You can see his ammonia burns on the side that was healing while in QT. *also note the black mark on his nose, kind of makes him look like a jack-o-lantern. February 15, 2016.

IMG_1560.JPG

Exit QT:

Jacque's sides are all healed and integrated into the main tank. Dumpdy is in the middle of a growth spurt... he sure is growing large for a rescue.

IMG_1629.JPG

Jacque's black markings are starting to fade. I believe he will be bright orange/red by the end with no black markings. His black nose marking is now covered by his small wen growth. The black on his pectoral fins are all gone too. Photo was taken last month.

IMG_1710.JPG

And then here we are today. Dumpdy has grown just a little bit. Harrietta too. Jacque... just a little...

IMG_1718.JPG

Dumpdy is a proven male with his breeding stars. Harrieta spawns about once every 2 weeks. Jacque is TBD.

Wow MJ she has grown fast!

She is growing nicely, the little runt. She's also getting a Ryukin shape. Her peduncle is shortening and her back is rounding. She won't have a strong hump, but I loveeee round fish. Yay!

With my 4 that I've have for a little over a year now, Choji and Lily has definitely shown the most change.

Choji started out as my husband's pick for the tank and I thought he was the ugliest goldfish I had ever seen and now he is my favorite!

Where as Lily started out beautiful I thought and her flipped Gill covers were barely noticeable... Now poor thing that's the first thing you notice about her.Out of the 4 she has always been the "weak/sickly" one that didn't grow as well etc while the other flourished. (I believe she now has a tumor by her eye)

I haven't experienced dramatic color changes with mine - they've mostly stayed true.  But here's Cheeks McGee's color changes over about a 6 month period.  He had a solid white body when I got him, but he's been developing beautiful orange/red scales!

I haven't had my 2 long enough yet to have any real change in size/color to show yet, but its cool to see the progress of other's fish growth.

Fancylbackgold: the last two photos are hysterical, I love the shocked look of goldfish gulps/yawns.

Oh that last one is Lio's "here comes Soren (thats me), he might have food - i'll warm up my jaws!" reaction. He does this most of the time that I approach the tank...

I love all your various calicos!  Cool to see how they cahnge over time.

Nice!  Chocolate (blue oranda.. husband names 'em) will occasionally do a long yawn/full extension of mouth at me when I put my face up close to them.  I'd love it if s/he did it every time I came over! Sprinkles (calico fantail), Chocolate's tank mate never does that.

Here's an update with a weigh in today. Don't mind my algae wall paper on the back of the tank. It's ugly but my fish love snacking on it.

*Jacque has a little black left on the tip of his tail. He has gone almost completely orange. Scroll up on the previous page to see his transformation.

Harrieta- my oldest fish in the tank, female, blue oranda, weighing in at 152 grams.

Dumpdy- lionhead, male, he was no more than 8-9 grams when i bought him. He was a rescue. You can scroll up on the previous page and see him as a fry. He's now a whopping 387 grams! He's grown huge in a little over a year.

Jacque- is at 92 grams. He was also a rescue.
