Pearlscaleperfect 3,561 Posted October 27, 2012 Figured I'd post this! Although I'm hoping to see much more growth in the future it isn't a bad start for a few months.

r11 6 Posted December 11, 2012 I'm not sure whether Willy counted as a fry when I got him, but here goes: Photo from the first week after purchase sometime a year ago I think: Photo taken this afternoon: I think it's interesting that his tail has actually tucked from fairly flat to around 45 degrees over time...seems kind of backwards but then again I didn't expect to see such a big wen either. wow, what do you feed him? how many times? he is nice...congratulations.

Maschka1 0 Posted January 1, 2013 I found this forum by searching why two of my fish turned white. I was so relieved to see that turning white is normal! I thought I would post my before and after pics of two of my fish-kids. Sadly I dont have baby pictures First is Lady, she is about 5 years old and was mostly orange when I brought her home. And this is Wedding fish. We call her that because she was one of the 1" feeder goldfish that were in the decorations at our wedding. All the others ended up living in a neighbors pond, but we kept her for our tank. we are coming up on our 5th anniversary this year and she is about 10" long, now. I just want to say I love this thread and it helped me feel so much better about my two fish who are no longer orange. I am so happy to know I didnt do something wrong!
dnalex 13,633 Posted January 1, 2013 I don't think it's normal. Please send them to me, so that I can continue to observe them for you.

Sakura 500 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Here are some before and after photos of Clover. Here he is the day I got him in April 2011. He was from Dandy Orandas. He was my smallest fish, at only about 2.5" and 20 grams. And here he is almost 2 years later, in January 2013! Now he's one of my biggest fish, at 6.5" and 102 grams. He would still be pure white if he wasn't eating Soilent Green, lol. I like to look back at old pictures of him; it's almost hard to believe he's the same fish! I also think it's really interesting how some of his red spots have changed and sort of migrated (the dorsal fin especially). great_kahn 109 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) 3 Months of growth. Other than a potentially disastrous power cut the first three months of owning goldfish It has gone well. Both are healthy, and seem to be growing well. No idea how much they had grown till I took some comparison shots! Before and after below. Bulk of there diet now is Soilent green. Fishler - He appears to be developing a Gorbechev style port wine stain.... as well as the moustache.
