Regular Member Nykole Posted November 30, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 30, 2003 Hi everyone! Today I purchased another African Dwarf Clawed Frog( 2 actually). On the way home I didnt notice but shes kind of deformed. Her leg bones grow up. She can hardly swim and mostly pulls herself along the tank bottom. It takes all her might to get a breath at the water's surface. What should I do? Should I humanely cull her? Take her back to the pet store? Keep her? I have 4 other ADCF and they are very pushy over food. I really dont want to keep her and watch her starve if she cant fight for food. I need advice soon please! Regular Member Ginevive Posted November 30, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 30, 2003 Hey, I can refer you to a GREAT frog message board.. www.thefrog.org. The people there will definately help you out!
Regular Member Nykole Posted November 30, 2003 Author Regular Member Share Posted November 30, 2003 I have decided to keep her. Shes so sweet and tame. If I returned her they might cull her and I cant do it myself. As long as the water is too deep and I hand feed her she'll probably live. BTW I have the frogs in a separate aquarium from the Moors. Guest Cheese Specialist
I can't kill anything! Even 'pest' snails... who I now keep as pets in their own home! I think the ones that are not seen as good as the others are more loveable just for that reason! it's like the runt of a litter of any kind is always the most tentative because it doesn't get attention like the rest. Does that apply to frogs? I love frogs, I have never kept any and wouldn't know how to. Although I did raise frogspawn when I was little! Does that count? Regular Member Lovely_Goldfish Posted November 30, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 30, 2003 can it be set free to hop away and find its own food?

Regular Member jbo Posted December 1, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted December 1, 2003 In the fishtank that was at my house when I was growing up, we had 2 albino frogs, the kind that stay underwater all the time. Well almost all the time.. they would go to the surface every now and then and get some air then DIVE back to the bottom smashing into the rocks everytime. You'd think they would have learned after a while...
