lol stupid me.... how long does it usually take after you bump up the temperature? Those aren't my only two i have a little one, much too little for breeding and my other female passed away 2 days ago :(

Hmmm, I don't know. I never bumped up the temp to get my goldies to breed...they just did it. ;)

lol but besides the point..... can sum1 confirm if thos are tubercles(or howevr u spell that) on the secong fish?

I dont see any tubercules. They are very pronounced and you will know when you see them.

It is usually a sudden drop in temperature after a warm period that triggers them to breed. Mine did this in the winter time after an unusual warm spell. It was a surprise. :)

I just realized u cant see them in the pix.... :blink: i feel stupid lol but these white dots appeared on his gills like a little smaller than this period . Its funny becuz his are scattered in such a way that it looks like an eye :D

I think they're much too young to have any breeding tubercles anyway.

My fry at age 5.5months showed his stars on his fins and gills and started chasing my female. However, prior to being female-less he did not have them.

I am not sure age limits the showing tubercules but rather the presence of ferile females.

I didnt check the photos and i might have missed if she posted their ages...

but also, my goldies bred when the temp dropped and i fed high proteins.

might i ask why the other female passed away?
