Regular Member purple Posted November 27, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 27, 2003 The only time fish ever die in my house is from dropsy, but luckily it doesn't happen entirely too often. I recently picked up 3 tiger barbs from Petland and I only have 2 left. They were sick before they came home because when they got into their tank they just sat, not even interested in eating. I figured they just needed time to settle in. Last night I found one dead and one pineconing really bad. The other one isn't pineconing yet, but it's got blood at the surface of its body and some of its tail fin is missing. There's redness at the base of the tail fins and I have it in with some melafix. The one that's pineconing is also in water with melafix, even though I know there's little melafix can do for it. I know dropsy is really hard to treat, but I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with anything. Anyone?
Guest Cheese Specialist
Sorry to hear about that Purple. I don't know anything about treating Dropsy and I hope I'm not going to have to (I'll have a look at any replies you get just in case). Good luck to you and your Tiger Bobs
