Blood Worm Pellets

I feed my 2 little ones sinking pellets, flake food and peas. I decided to buy them a pack of Bloodworm Pellets to introduce more variety into their diet.

I fed them with these two days running and noticed that my Fantail started acting strangely. Darting around, banging off the Moor, and yawning...a lot. I gave them both a salt dip thinking it may have been a parasitic infection. Things went back to normal and I didn't feed the Bloodworm Pellets again until yesterday (about 2 weeks later). Today they are both acting in the same frantic manner again.

Do you think it's possible that this food is giving them parasites?

I have never run across bloodworms worked into a pelleted food, but bloodworms in general are possible carrier for parasites due to the simple fact on how the bloodworms are cultivated. Hikari is the only seller of frozen bloodworms that guarantees parasite free worms.

If it doesn't actually say on the box that its parasite free I would definetely be careful with it. Your fish's reaction after a feeding is more than suspicious... :)
