Regular Member chico Posted October 20, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 20, 2005 Bubbles from the filter? From the agitation of the water? That is not bad - that's good. You want oxygen.

Regular Member littleone78 Posted October 20, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 20, 2005 Do you have your bubble wall going? I know you are trying the fishless cycle right now..... does anyone know if that could be a cause? Is it a thick foam?
Regular Member Kissy Posted October 20, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 20, 2005 Can you test your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? When I tried to cycle my tank fishlessly with fishfood, I added way too much. The next day the water was discolored, stinky, and there was a thin layer of foam in the corners of the tank. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but once the ammonia and nitrite went down, the bubbles dissapeared, along with the stench and discoloring. Does you tank have any of those symptoms? Guest JustFroggy
I didn't put the bubble wall back in but I can test for all but the ammonia they will have the test strips tomorrow the second day of the fishless cycle, it was discolored but today it is really clear no smell though the foam starts right across from the filter and goes to the corners. I can retest tomorrow can't see the strips to test it tonight--I have a baby sleeping in my room right now.
Guest JustJayde
My bubble wall causes so many bubbles that it looks like foam, it is harmless from what I can see... I have had this since july with no problems. No smell or discoloration in mine at all though.
