Regular Member PaNdeM0niuM Posted October 18, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 I have 1 dwarf gourami in a 20 gallon tank - with tetras and cories he keeps chasing the other fish around. I was wondering, if I kept more gourami (maybe 3), will he stop chasing my other fish?? also, when keeping gourami in groups of 3....should they all be the same species of gourami ?? Regular Member froggydella Posted October 18, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 HI~ Before I had my goldfish, I had a dwarf Gourami and a regular Gourami, The smaller of the 2 ended up fighting the larger one. I learned from my expreince with them and friends that have had them that they do a little better when kept in the same size range, EX: Dwarfs toghether and so on.. That might of just been a fluke though, You may indeed be able to keep both types togehter. I am just leary on it after I saw my babies maul each other!! They were incrediably mean to each other. <_< I think they do better in groups from what I can remember though.
Regular Member Kissy Posted October 18, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 Keep no more than one male in the group or you might make the problem worse x_X
Regular Member sandy Posted October 18, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 Gouramis are realated to bettas so they shouldnt be kept with other males unless the tank is a lot bigger so they can get their own territory. To stop the aggression to other fish get 2 female dwarf gourami and he will have something exciting to chase!
