Regular Member Ranchugirl Posted October 20, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 20, 2005 Cleaning up algae on the glass - the snails lose. At least the ones I got are lazy as it can be, while my little Otto(something) is wonderful with it. He is very small, never will grow over 1 1/2 inch tops, and doesn't misbehave around goldfish. Cleaning up leftover food - snails are the best. They eat almost anything (except maybe algae ) and are wonderful "maids".... Dojos are equally good, but mine never touches the algae either. Regular Member ~SHAWNA~ Posted November 21, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted November 21, 2005 I dont have any experience with dojos, but speaking for my snails, they SUCK at cleaning lol. My goldfish did better jobs at cleaning up floor leftovers, and my algae levels are about the same. My pleco, before he passed, did an EXCELLENT job at cleaning the algae and glass. But because of the temperature of my tanks in the winter, I wont be getting any more. Perhaps it was just as well that he passed away in the summer before my tank temps dropped.
