Regular Member Donya Posted October 11, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 11, 2005 My ranchu, Willy, has got some strange scale color going on. His scales have been looking progressively more pronounced and I couldn't figure out why until I read the post about fish scales growing in concentric rings. The outer most rings are a pale yellow and it goes more to orange/red as it gets closer to the skin. It's freaked me out a couple times in bad lighting because I thought his scales were sticking out. I tried to find some pics on the net that showed the same thing but didn't find any...is this just a temporary color phase that some goldies go through as they darken in color? Regular Member d_golem Posted October 11, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted October 11, 2005 I think gchen's ranchu has the same coloration. Have a look at his siggy or his video again and u'll see Some ranchu usually have that kind of coloration as far as i'm aware of.
Regular Member Donya Posted October 11, 2005 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 11, 2005 Cool! I can't make the fishy cam work from the links but I saw the pic in the signature. Is there a name for that pattern, or is it just one of the many versions of "gold"?
