I tested my water, and the pH and buffer are still a little low, however my nitrite reading was 0, and my nitrate reading was 40, within the safe zone according to the booklet. Is it true?? I think people on here say that nitrates should be under 20, but my booklet says under 110 ppm is safe haahaa....so I have no clue! Long term exposure to high nitrates have been linked to swimbladder disease and will cause stress to the fish over time. I always keep mine below 10.
