Regular Member jsrtist Posted November 9, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 9, 2003 You should go to a local aquarium store and look at how the stands are made. Basically, you could make a great, very simple stand with some 2x4s. You could also make a base of the 2x4s and then put particle board/plywood around it. Just be sure to put a waterproof varnish on any wood that you use. There are also a few do it yourself pages on here somewhere??just not sure where now! You could do a search for aquarium stands and Im sure some pages will come up. Good luck and just be careful when building it. You want to be sure and support the middle and both ends of the tank. Also remember that water weighs over 8 pounds per gallon.
