Regular Member ILuvMehFishies Posted September 24, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 24, 2005 I've got a 10 gallon tank with 5 common goldfish (yes overstocked), and today I took a reading and my resultes were: Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate 0? My tank has been running for about 30 days give or take. Two days ago, I took a reading, and the Nitrates were a good 10, and I still had a few nitrites floatin' around...but today, nothing? The only other addends I use are: Wardley's Cholor Out, and a Ph Lo Formula. I use the aquarium phar kit, and my nitrate is just a half a shade darker than the 0 reading on the little card. I do 40% water changes every other day or so. Am I changing the water too much? Did my cycle just crash? :S
Regular Member nichjake Posted September 24, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 24, 2005 What type of test do you use, could that test have been a dud? If you haven't already I would suggest taking another reading before you do anything.

Guest Intermouse
Are you doing all the shaking and timing the tests call for? I made that some nearly fatal mistake. I was not waiting long enough for the color to change. I use Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Test kit. Dont despair ILuvMehFishies My first tank has been up and running now for 45 days and it is still not cycled.
