Guest spongeboy
Hi I have a regular young goldfish(so I have been told)but one problem he has a small stubby white thing hanging off of his one side. I have a 5 gal hex with an air pump and filter I clean out 1/3 of his water 1 a wk. He eats and acts normal hes alert and everything it wasn't there until today. Is it an ulcer? Scrape?fluke? Somebody help me! Pics of my fish posted above
Regular Member Whirlwind Posted September 6, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 6, 2005 I'm not sure what it is but you'll have to get a bigger tank for him Comets get VERY big.A 10-20 gallon would be great. That would help him live longer and grow bigger. If kept in a small tank he will be stunted and have a shorter life and will get more diseases.Someone will now what it is
Regular Member Merluvee Posted September 6, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 6, 2005 I think it's fantail, not a comet but I could be wrong. Regardless you will need a bigger tank. I can't really tell what the white thing is from the pic, is it fuzzy or waxy looking? Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Regular Member d_golem Posted September 7, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 7, 2005 yea i think it's a fantail i'd think later about bigger tank though, although it's important to get a bigger one, now maybe concentrate on the stubby whte thing on ur fish. i'd say it's anchor worm, but let's wait for more expert opinion
