Regular Member tinker Posted September 2, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 2, 2005 This is a friend of mine, and I recommended this site to her, as you guys really helped me when Desi was sick. Apparantly her fish is essentally sitting on the bottom, cant swim. I told her to add one teaspoon of salt per gallon .......... any idea's guys?? Speck, is there any obvious injury to the fish? IE: fins, scales missing etc?

Regular Member JenW Posted September 2, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted September 2, 2005 Hiya speck and There's really only 1 thing you can do and that's to keep his water perfect. As you're showing some nitrites - you may need to do another waterchange.... just until you get them to 0. The salt is a great idea although IMHO - I'd try and find something to replace the Stresscoat ie. Prime... Stresscoat contains aloe vera and I believe it can coat the gills which may lead to breathing problems. Hopefully he's just a bit stunned, without any internal damage and my fingers are crossed for a speedy recovery
