Regular Member BigRedandBlindWillie Posted August 30, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted August 30, 2005 Just a quick question. I have a 55 gallon planted tank. Last week (and for as long as I can remember) my nitrates are easily kept under 20ppms. Well, last week when I did my water change, I added some flora pride like I usually do once a month, and 2 days later my water started turning green frmo algea blooms. Well, today I decided to check the params again, and everything was fine, but my nitrates jumped to 160ppms! Ive never had this happen. What could it be? The flora pride has never messed with my nitrates in the past.. So I did a 50% water chande, and it made NOOO difference. My fish seem alittle lethargic, but other then that OK. Any advice? Regular Member fisharenewtome Posted August 30, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted August 30, 2005 What's going on in your tap water? (Mine always registers nitrates-perhaps you have some sort of spike???) Any dying plants?? Jenn
