Regular Member sandy Posted August 29, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted August 29, 2005 I have four and they nip other fishes fins, so keep them with other fast tetras. As i only got a small group its best to get at least 6. They are shy when you first get them and dont always school, mine are hardly ever together unless they are scared. I have 1 male and 3 females. The males are small and skinny and when they breed they flash against each other. If you want to breed them then they need a tank to themselves and once settled will breed every fortnight. For the young to survive you will need to remove the adults.

Regular Member sandy Posted August 29, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted August 29, 2005 I reckon you could fit a dozen in and be ok for growth.

Guest moTIGS
I had seven of them for awhile in my 10 gallon tank, but a couple of days ago one died and now they're in a 55 with a few goldfish (I know, not a good idea for too long, but I plan on getting a 29 or 20L for them and some others soon). In the time I had them, I really didn't notice much growth at all, and three of those fish I've had for over a year. I wouldn't expect them to get too much bigger than they are when you buy them.
