Regular Member Ginevive Posted November 1, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2003 I just got a magnetic algae scraper (well, it came free with a new filter I bought.) I tried it out and it really worked good on my 100-gallon oscar tank. I was wondering how you go about cleaning these things out; I want to use it on my GF tanks too, but I don't want to spead anything bad from tank to tank. Maybe just soak it in hot water? I always thought these things were kind of stupid, but now that I tried it, I found it makes things easier than dunking your whole arm into a tank to ge that stubborn algae off! Regular Member pm94 Posted November 1, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2003 The hot water method should work along with a day or two of drying. Make sure both parts are seperate from each other. I just did the simple method and got one for each tank.
