Regular Member Tazz Knight Posted July 23, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 23, 2005 I know that a lot of us have breed goldfish, I wonder if all goldfish fry look the same until they are about a month. I have fry whose parents are a comet, a fantail and an oranda. The only difference in them are teh tails, most single a few double. What are you all's experiences? Regular Member Gold Ryu Posted July 23, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 23, 2005 I've never bred goldies all i've ever bred was some minnows i saved from a duck infested pond.I got like millions of fry.And i guess that's the only way to tell the differnce in fancies and single tails when they're young. Regular Member Tazz Knight Posted July 23, 2005 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 23, 2005 thats really cool...I would have done the same thing. I was looking at different pics of goldfish fry and it seems that they all seem to look the same. So how many goldfish you you have Gold Ryu? Regular Member Ranchugirl Posted July 24, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 24, 2005 They indeed do look the same until a certain stage in life, and the tail is the first difference you notice, together with "dorsal or no dorsal" if you breed dorsalless goldfish like lionheads and ranchu.
