my two bettas are arriving tomorrow morning and their tank is set up with a plastic divider. the water level is quite low, and the barrier above the level is a good few inches. I'm just wondering how high they can jump because it would be awful if one could jump into the others section and i want to make sure this doesnt happen.

thanks!

You could take a little piece of mesh and drape it on your lid down to where the divider is and let it just fall to one side, just use a little superglue to hold it on the lid. That way if they are jumpers they can't get into the other side. :)

Plakats (short finned and females) can jump 3 times their body length while the longer finned bettas can only do twice their length, but as said it's best to cover every nook and cranny, hole and gap that you can see. They're very good opertunists.
