Obese Fish?

I have a red cap oranda, who is about 2 and a half inches long, from tip to tip. He's the biggest in my tank. Anyways, he's always been a big eater, much bigger then the other two (which is normal since he's bigger)...but lately his hunger seems insatiable. I feed him for the same amount of time as the other fish (twice a day, for about 3 mins each time), but he always seems to be hungry still after. Lately he seems to be eating even more then before...and he also seems to be gaining some weight. He's grown a lot since I bought him, easily doubling in size. But lately his cheeks seem to be getting chubbier, and his belly much bigger. Is this okay? Is it unhealthy for fish to be too fat? I'm thinking of changing his name to Chubbs....seems more fitting.

I don't think it's unhealthy, as long as you're not overfeeding him. I know that it is tempting, but I only feed mine once a day because my lionheads in particular looked like they were getting too plump for their size.
