Regular Member Anic Posted July 19, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 19, 2005 I bought some bulbs for my fishtank and my biggest fish, Jimbo ( my sister named him because he's huge) keeps uprooting the bulbs. I've re-buried them numerous times and he keeps pulling them up! Does anyone know a way that I can keep the bulbs in the gravel!? Any help is appreciated. Regular Member BigRedandBlindWillie Posted July 19, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 19, 2005 Tie a string to the bulb, and attach the string to a suction cup. Suction cup it to the bottom of the tank, under the gravel. Then he cant uproot it. I have to do it with all my baby plantlings or with plants that havent had a chance to root down, otherwise, my chubbsters and peaches will uproot them. After it sprouts, and roots in nicely, you can usually detach it. Hope this helps!
Regular Member touchofsky Posted July 20, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 20, 2005 Another thing is that if they are bulbs such as the lily and aponogeton bulbs from nooppee, they will sprout and root without being planted. Just lying on the surface of the gravel.
