Regular Member Bella_Butterfly Posted July 10, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 10, 2005 Lara, my goldfish that I have had for about 2 years, has dropsy I've never had a fish with this condition before. Unfortunatley, her scales are sticking out of her body, which signifies death is near for her. Should I euthanize her to put her out of her misery? I thank you guys for any responses you might have. Guest squeeker
I hate euthanizing, only because I don't like to give up hope... but everyone sees it a bit differently. If you feel that you can't do anything for your fish, and are comfortable with the humane methods of euthanizing, do what you feel is right in your heart. Check other threads for treatment on Dropsy - Laurie had a really good thread a number of months ago, and it tells what needs to be done. The thread can be found HERE Good luck! Regular Member Fishmerised Posted July 11, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 11, 2005 Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Dropsy is a severe condition and the chances of recovery are slim but there have been some success rates.
