Guest kitnmom
i am sooo confused and need some help i have a small kid pool i use to keep my plants growing in so my monster fish in the big pond don't eat all of them. i put 2 small 1.5" calico colored fantail goldfish in this pond to keep the mosquitos from getting out of control. They are very happy swimming around but yesterday we saw a ton of little fish swimming around in there. I have not moved any plants or fish from the big pond to the small one so where could they have come from? there were no fish in the plant tank when i got the water lettuce and hyacinth they don't look like tadpoles, and they are dark like most of the babies we have had in the big pond. Do all fish fry look simalar?
Guest yabbie
Could any eggs have come with the plants? Did your little fish have enough time to lay and hatch eggs? I think most fry look similar... except livebearer fry come out a little more advanced.
Regular Member magickzzl Posted July 6, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 6, 2005 i thought maybe some fancy spawns also produced commons... or, could they have been stow-away Killi eggs on the plants?
