Guest jimmy_396_jimmy
like for a whole kit is it expensive or should i buy it seperatly?
Regular Member magickzzl Posted July 4, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 4, 2005 Well, its about $30 at mmm for a full kit... or about $9 per tester... Its cheaper to buy the whole kit, but if your low in funds, like me, I bought one each paycheck... first amounia, then nitrAtes, then nitrItes, then pH, etc
Regular Member TamtheLittleBlackMoor Posted July 4, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 4, 2005 $30 really? That's a lot, a Freshwater Masters kit is $17.99 at my LFS, comes with everything, amonia, nitrAte, nitrites, pH and something else I think. Dr. Foster & Smiths might have them a bit cheaper (they're online, go0gle them) or try www.aquabid.com . As you're in Hawaii though shipping will be killer, maybe look up fish stores in the phone book and call to see how much they go for? That'll save you time driving to a whole lot of stores. Regular Member magickzzl Posted July 4, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 4, 2005 but they have like 250 tests per stat. So its not like you have to spend it monthly or anything
Regular Member Chrissy_Bee Posted July 4, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 4, 2005 They are also 30 bucks here, or 15 for the individuals. I'm kicking myself now for buying them individually instead of springing for the master kit.
Regular Member Kissy Posted July 5, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 5, 2005 Shop around! I've seen that masterkit sold for 15 dollars and for 35 dollars! Sadly I didn't know this and I ended up paying close to thirty for mine.
Regular Member kortniee Posted July 5, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted July 5, 2005 I don't know how much this will help in Hawaii, but the Ammonia part of the test kit (75 tests) is on sale for $2 at Big Al's. May be good to throw in if any of you are already planning on buying something from them... Edit: That's USD, by the way.
