Regular Member scriber Posted October 28, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted October 28, 2003 I'm helping a friend cycle a 10g w/biowheel. Ammonia readings have been from 1.0-2.0 for 12 days now. We've been doing 40-50% water changes daily. No signs of nitrites yet.
Regular Member jsrtist Posted October 29, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted October 29, 2003 They shouldnt make it take longer; they should actually help it go faster since that wheel is a great spot for the bacteria to build up on. How many fish are in the 10 and how big are they? If its just one teeny fish in there thats probably why its taking so long. It depends on the bioload (ie how many fish) and the frequency of water changes.
Regular Member scriber Posted October 29, 2003 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 29, 2003 He has 10 of those feeder fishes in there. 10 for a dollar things, he's gonna return them as soon as his tank is cycled. We do water changes everyday.
