My Shubunkins Tank

My shubunkins live in a tank.

Its just normal tap water with no heater or filter.

Is that a problem?

Or do all you fish keepers have a heater and filter in your tanks?

They seem to be fine but i was just thinking if they should have a filter and a heater because id also want to breed them, as they are old enough and are in good condition at the moment.

Please reply :( <_<

Hi Tanya....What size tank do you have and how long have you had it? You said you are using normal tap water are you putting water conditioners in it when you do your weekly water changes? Not everybody has a heater in their tank but I'm one that does use them. A filter is a must have. You can buy one from BigAlsonline.com for a really good price.

Welcome to the board!

i never used a heater but the cholrine in the water isnt that good for them. get some drops to put in the water. they can also drop the ph level which is particularly high in tap water i found. my baby shubs didnt like the tap water because the ph was too high for them, they got covered in slime and it was totally gross.
