Regular Member blinky000 Posted October 24, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted October 24, 2003 hia, i have nearly 20 week old goldies, some are 1inch and others 1/2 inch. there is no adjuster to the pump thing and they try swimming away from the defuser but im not sure its good for them to be working so hard for their food being so small. someone tell me if its good to strengthen them up early or turn the pump off. thanks
Guest Kelli
There are a few things you could do to reduce the strength of the air flow without reducing the amoutn of oxygen entering the tank. You cuold take a needle and poke some holes in the air line so that it's releasing oxygen at several places throughout the tank, rather than just at the air stone. Tubing is cheap, and this wayyou'll still get the same amount of bubbles, but it own't be in one concentrated spot and thus the current won't be so strong. ON the toher hand, there are control vaulves that you can buy that attach directly to the air line tubing, if your tank doesn't have one.
