Red Line Across Fishe's Scales

I just noticed the other that there is a red line across my fish's body. it sort of looke like it's under the scales, but also on teh outside. it's like there are holes on the scales..

hi and welcome.

could you describe where on the body it is and does it follow the lateral line across the middle of the fish at all? could it look like bubbles rather than holes?

in the diagnosis section there is a box at the top and if you could fill in as much as you can then that may help us more. to get tests if you havent got them then your lfs can usually test your tank water for you.

It sounds like the lateral line across your fish's body. Does it follow the entire length of the fish along both sides? This is what helps them to sense their surroundings and feel/hear vibrations.

If the lines were streaky looking, and kind of like spiderwebs, that could be a sign of ammonia/nitrite poisoning or septicemia. But it most likely is just the lateral line.
