Regular Member LaurieP Posted April 25, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 25, 2005 Yes it is a possibility. Most fish will eat other fish if they are dead or dying. It is a part of nature. I know it isn't the best or nicest thing for them, but the circle of life. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Regular Member BigRedandBlindWillie Posted April 25, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 25, 2005 I agree. its very common for other fish to nibble at dead fish. Its sad, but true.
Regular Member Fantail Posted April 25, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 25, 2005 It is their natural instinct to get food, even if it is another fish. Sorry about your loss.
Regular Member fishrpets Posted April 25, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 25, 2005 Yep, I have seen this a couple times at the pet store. It's not nice to see but like the others said, it is nature.
