Guest calico4
My calico is getting spots on his fins and some on his body. They are brownish. Are they bad or good? -calico

Regular Member PodgyGoldy Posted April 24, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 24, 2005 Do you look like any sort of parasite?? It's more likely your calico fantail is changing colours.

Regular Member Fishmerised Posted April 24, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 24, 2005 Hi Kirsten, yep calicos can have many different colours on them provided the 'background' is a calico white. My baby calico ruykin has a chocolate dorsal fin and tail. I have one with a couple of redish/orange spots too, this freaked me at first, I thought he was injured. Guest PenelopeFish
I have a yellow fantail who has two brown stripes on her tail. I think she is a mutt. She's so cute and odd looking. PenelopeFish
Regular Member jsrtist Posted April 26, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 26, 2005 Black coloring in goldfish fades without sunlight or bright light, and often turns brownish. This is most likely what youre seeing.
Regular Member tinkerbell Posted April 26, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 26, 2005 its a shame that it fades. i have a gorgeous gold and black ryukin, and it hasnt faded on him yet. do you think it will?
