Regular Member ryukingirl793 Posted April 23, 2005 Regular Member Share Posted April 23, 2005 I have heard that term everywhere but I don't know what it means. Are there any benefits or downsides? Also, what was the minimum gallons per hour a filter should do?
Guest VxShady
A bio wheel filter is the ones like the Penguins and Emperors from Marineland. They have bio wheels in them that the beneficial bacteria like to grow on. They're very nice to have. I've never had a problem with mine so I really don't think there are any downsides. On a goldy tank it should do at least 10 times your tank size per hour. So if you have a 10 gallon tank, it should do at least 100 gallons an hour.
