Will Scales Grow Back?

jsut a quick question..

do missing scales on gf grow back?

my poor fishy is mising one or two scales...

and its been 2 weeks and its still hasnt grown!

my fish had scales missing they grow back slowly on my fish i can still see marks but looks much better

my black ranchu burnt himself on the heater and had a white silver stripe (burn) and some scales missing :( . the silver is now turning black again and it looks like they are growing back. it's a bit hard to tell at this stage but he seems fine :D

They definately do grow back, not always the same type/color though.

If a pearlscale loses a scale, in my experience it grows back "flat" not pearled. And sometimes, they grow back "shiny" instead of matte color, for my fish anyhow.

:) Ya i agree the above posters and Starsmom, the scale doesn't always grow back like the normal color or shape.

Some of my commets lost scales and the newer scales are rather white now not a bright orange.

It takes several weeks for scales to grow back, but they will come back! My oranda Apricot lost a bunch of scales on her sides when she got stuck between a heater (off, fortunately) and the gravel. They've all come back. :)

and one of the other

hopefuly they grow back soon!

looks funny without scales :lol:
